Keep small systems understandable

Every additional moving part creates something else to remember. Before adding a tool, it helps to write down the job it will do and the boundary around it.

A short checklist can be more useful than a complicated workflow: know where the source lives, keep a copy of what matters, and occasionally check that the recovery path still works.

Maintenance becomes easier when names are clear and changes are small. The aim is a system that remains understandable after a few weeks away.
